Shot a rat
Well, I did my first hunting today...got a rat...
We noticed the sucker bogarting on our bird feeders and don't want rats that close to the house so...
At least now I know that in a pinch, we can get a little protein...hopefully something a little better than rat comes along if we're in that pinch!

Oh - used a Ruger 10/22 Takedown. That is a fun gun to shoot and fairly accurate. We've shot it plenty, it's been taken down many times, and still stays on target. Good job Ruger!

Rats make great targets and in some cultures are a primary source of protein, just takes quite a few to make a meal. Just be sure you shoot them in the head, you don’t waste any meat then.
When you have to shoot, shoot. Don't talk.

Don't need as much meat if it is used mainly as a flavoring in soups or stews. Little bit will go a long ways.

Rats being used to flavor stews is not yucky. Knowing that they are being used could be.

Are you strictly a meat hunter or are you planning to have the heads mounted. Some nice wall mounts for the den would be cool.
EDIT: Found a nice example for you.

They say for every rat you see, there are about 25 more that you won't see.
Turn the election's in 2014 to a "2A Revolution". It will serve as a 1994 refresher not to "infringe" on our Second Amendment. We know who they are now.........SEND 'EM HOME.
