This is a discussion on you know you are in texas when you see....... within the Off Topic & Humor Discussion forums, part of the The Back Porch category; texas.jpg...
Funny, but looks very doctored, even if it is true. Is it a real sign in your neck of the woods Guru?

The one that says "We enjoy gun fights" ... pretty stupid thing to say.

Flattery will get you nowhere....
I told my wife that for states like Conneticuit, MA, or Rhode Island to get more folks to move there they should put up signs next to the "Welcome to Texas" signs that say:
"If you lived here you would be home in 3 hours or less!"
We stopped in Texarkana and still had 6 hours to go when we moved here 3 weeks ago.
Oh yes, that is a photoshop chop job for sure....because everyone knows the signs at the Texas Borders say, "Welcome to Texas! No, we don't care to hear about how you do things in Yankee land. Yes, Boudreaux, Cajuns are absolutely allowed to bring their muskrat with them. If you are from Oklahoma, please change into either Maroon and White or Orange and white now, and if you are from either New Mexico or Old Mexico (yes, that is what we call it sometimes), we have this thing called rain....it happens every so often. Oh, yes, and y'all please stop at the Department of Public Safety down the road and pick up your Bible, your pitcher of Iced Tea (extra sweetened), some of MeeMaw's home made fried chicken, an AR-15, a shotgun and the pistols of your choice, and enjoy your stay!"
Well, they should say that!

Welcome to Texas. I don't recall ever seeing that sign. Don't know about the gunfight thing though.
Yeah, its definitely doctored and the, "we like gunfights" is a little silly but its all in good fun.
Well, the "real" signs say, "Welcome to Texas. Drive Friendly!" Which is kinda the same advice ain't it?
"If you only knew the power of the dark side!" - Darth Vader
All the rain we have had fall this whole year would just about fill that "rain gauge" up halfway. Seriously guru. Send a little of that precious rain down Texas way.
I was born and raised in southeast Texas. I was so far southeast that we had fenced yards not to keep the kids in, but to keep the gators out!
Now, I live in the Land of OZ, and I miss my home state every day.
I think it gets on hubby nerves that when he says "where you wanna go for vacation?" the answer is always somewhere in Texas!
Not going to be a victim anymore.
Nice photo shop job. I was expecting to see something like -You know you are in Texas when everyone is driving in the left hand lane no matter what speed they are going. You know you are in Texas when everyone who makes a left hand turn turns into the farthest right hand lane, even if there are six lanes. I could go on and on!
