My dad was digging through some boxes of old photos and found a stack of Military Payment certificates,I've never heard of these. What did you do with them and what were they for? I surfed around on the net but didn't come up with much, There were some listed on Ebay but no real infomation. Here's a pic of a few of the diffrent ones I have:
That's really interesting, I could see the dollar amounts but the amounts for less than a dollar threw me for a minute, looks like for a small amount it would have been easier to use the local coins.
I think the ones I have were from around 1951 or so. There were several listed on Ebay and the prices varied widely from $1 to $200,not sure what affected the price so much. If I had to guess I would say mine are somewhere betweeen fair and good condition,
That brings back memories. In Korea in the mid-sixties the only "real" american currency that was "legal" was the penny. all the rest was in MPCs. It was supposed to cut down on the illegal exchange of greenbacks for the local currency.
