I'm knot sure wether or knot I need these knots.
I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I couldn't resist. It's been one of those weeks. I think I need to go to the range tomorrow wether I need too or knot...
Actually as an old cruising sailor I still find a fascination for knots! Everyone should know a bowline, half hitch, rolling hitch, and maybe a few bends. Or is it getting bent.....
What a week...........
OK El C - you started it -
If you get a bad hitch - just scratch it.!
Don't get knotted if three sheets to the wind.
Bends ain't only for deep sea divers.
Must say - my two old faves have always been the clove hitch and bowline - two very handy knots. Oh and not forgetting when using monofilament with fishing, the double blood knot.
Yeah, my stride developed a hitch as I ran around the bend...
OK, I promise. 100 rounds through the Micro tomorrow in pennance. (Actually for break in but any excuse will do for range time)
Thanks P95! Great site! :35:
Boy Scouts of the world unite! Great site.
That's a seriously good web site, for tips on various knots. Years ago, I had a knot-tying "flip" book, where you could flip the pages quickly and watch someone tying a knot. It had a handful of useful knots in the book. Had one for Rod Laver's tennis swing, as well. Good stuff, that.
Thanks for the link.
I tied knots for two years as a Boatswains Mate, and there are still a few that will tie me up once in a while.
Really enjoyed the climbing knots. Used to go rock climbing out west a long time ago.
Great site, nice refresher. Thank you.
I can barely tie my shoes and make the knot hold, so this is a great sight for me lol.
Great Info, Chris.... when I was a Telephone Lineman (now called Linepersons [PC]) I used alot of Bowline, Half-hitch and Timber-hitches. Also, the San Diego Hitch which we used more, cause it was simple and held a good amount. I am sure the San Diego has another name, I just dont know what it is, but we had a guy from SD who used it all the time, so we called it that, ha... I'll have to look into more of the KNOT site and see if it is there, but doubt it...
For some reason, knots have always come really naturally to me, but a refresher is always good. Great site! I need to find a piece of rope...
