    I've got one too, back in 1971, cold up there. As far a Russian subs are concerned, I remember when they were always off our east coast, we did the same to them.

    probably exploring the changes in the acoustic environment...lots of crude oil in suspension...lots of new background "sounds" from the seabed..(natural gas hydrates) from fractured drill sites...maybe they are checking out the state of the art ultra/deep rigs....what ever...I bet it includes liberty in Cuba..
