Silly wife and her groupon
My wife is not just a penny pincher, but a full fledged all out penny hawk and sometimes a spare change thief. Lately, shes been freaking out about groupon and its "deals" and a few months ago she showed me something that rocked my world. Its a $29.99 deal, half off i believe, for 100 clays and a dinner for two at Wings North. Only catch is, I sold my mossy about 5 years ago to buy a crib for my daughter, which she never used. Neither did my youngest..
Now this said coupon stated specifically and I read it out loud to her and stressed the point BEFORE purchasing, it is for the dinner and clay. There was no mention of shotguns or shells. Yesterday she freaked out and ruined my ramen lunch by declaring that i was trying to sneak a new gun purchase (sorta true, but where we live it is shotgun only for deer season and i have to travel over 45 miles to get into some good rifle land and our yard is literally PACKED with deer during season) she would not spend a penny more than what was paid for the coupon and that I was not to buy a shotgun or shells or rent them from them...ive had my eyes on a pistol grip stevens (savage) 230 12 ga since im risking overpenetration with my rifles in a home defense scenario. And tresspessers are more and more often trying to break into the vehicles, camper and garage.
I am sooo depressed. Until i heard of this place, which is closed during the summer, i had always assumed that clays and dinner was done by shooting in the backyard and then walking into the house and eating. The closest thing Ive ever had to it was coming home last Thanksgiving after sleeping errr hunting all day.
The Stevens is $199 which is 35 off the MSRP and 50 lower than anywhere else. Add Her 10% employee discount at wally world and its a $190 shotgun after the $13 background check fee and tax. Shells are what, $5 a box and if I go online its even better at sportsmans guide. im soooooooo depressed. At this point, id trade the 30/30 and a pocket rocket or two for one, which she would never allow. So depressing...
