That's such a good return on your investment I think you should risk it.

I'm pretty good with my geography but I had to Google Benin. I thought is was fake but it's a real country in on the West coast of Africa.

I've learned my lesson this time around. I'm not giving any money or my checking account information to those guys ever again. Getting burned three times hurts enough.

I like to respond to them and tell them to give me their account #. They usually leave me alone after that for some reason!

Well you know all those scams come from Nigeria, but this one comes from Benin so it must be OK. (sarcasm)

And GeorgiaDawg: I hope you are joking.

I am. Never quite understood how people fall for those things.

I don't think his name is Ben Johnson. I think his real name is Ben Dover.

Come on, guys. I'm sure you'll get the 1.2 million. It's a low number actually. I just been informed that my uncle (the one I never had) died in Africa 6 weeks ago and elft me 35 million. All I have to do is send some money (a really humble sum, something like 5k) to this nice gentleman from the department of justice of this little country, and I will get the money ASAP. It can't be a lie! The person wo wrote me is a lawyer, for chrissakes!

Why do they keep sending these mails? Simple. Some idiot will fall for it.

People do fall for them. I responded to one a while back asking for my name, age, address etc. I gave them the following:

    John E. Hoover
    Age 26
    935 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW
    Washington, D.C. 20535-0001
    (202) 324-3000

They responded with a form I was supposed to take to my bank. I forwarded everything to the FBI's spam hotline.

In 2008, a scammer used the name of the company I work for in one of these. I got the wonderful job of talking to all the people who fell for it and wanted their money back. The scam letter was so poorly written and oviously fake, I don't know how anyone fell for it, but they did.
