Sickening. My daughter tells me almost daily how much fun she had at our father-daughter tea party this past summer.

Ridiculous. I took my mom to Mom Prom back in the days and had a great time.

The only way some people are happy is to make everyone else miserable. Such as my M-in-L.

Schools are afraid of single complaints, companies are, everyone is. I just laugh when someone complains!

I suppose the tradition runs counter to the social engineering we've got going which re-programs us to believe what a modern family consists of.

Maybe because the State wrote a law giving her the power? Why blame the school for following the law. Any outrage should be directed towards those responsible for enacting the law.
Lundsten said school attorneys found while federal gender discrimination laws exempt such events, Rhode Island’s does not.

At this point, the law states that we cannot have these gender-specific type activities,” Lundsten told Fox News. “

I agree with that it is stupid But disagree with the title of the thread.

I agree with that it is stupid But disagree with the title of the thread. Many times we want the minority opinion to win because it is just. The title of the thread makes it sound like it is always a bad thing.

Good point, thank you for making it.

The majority isn't necessarily just, right or moral.

The Rhode Island legislature shut down the tradition.

It is now the norm that, if one person is offended, or has a problem, people bow down to their wishes. It is ridiculous to the point of not being funny. Our society is quickly melting down.
