That is what I was doing wrong!!
I went shooting with a buddy and some of his coworkers one time and they looked at me like I had a third eye. I guess a Jimmy Buffett t-shirt, blue jeans and sneakers don't meet the dress code.

Warning: Serious post to follow, skip if this offends you in a 'funny' thread.
Honestly, I think you should practice how you dress... if you normally wear a shirt and tie when you carry, practice that way - likewise, if you wear high heels and a dress, practice that way. Maybe not all the time, but often enough so that you know what it's like in your day to day attire.

My opinion shouldn't be taken seriously due to the fact that I've been shooting guns for over 30 years and have only recently been active on gun forums, where all the real world knowledge apparently is.

True. I do agree with you despite my post. But standing in a lane shooting stationary paper is a little different than shooting on the move. Frankly it always gets me to see pics of people all tac'ed out and the pic is captioned "home defense" or "FOF." Personally I kinda like it when some of the local lady SASS shooters show up at my range . Something really hot about ladies dressed up in western garb with low slung quick draw rigs. Most of the folks who show up wearing black or camouflage with their pants tucked into their boots are young LEO's or guys from the local air force base. What I do not understand is why they all seem to avoid me when I show up to shoot.

Ditto. I requalified for CCW indoors last month, was surprised to see how well I could drill the center with a laser LCP at 50 feet. I guess I need some night practice.
I don't always have nothing to say, but when I do, I post it on Facebook.
Don't forget the "history " guy. Knows all about your gun , how it was made and lots of other ,(sometimes correct ) but not usually stories of how it was used.
