    Pizza looks really good BTW.
A round flat stone that you put the uncooked pizza on in the oven to produce a nice crust,

Living in Chicago for a couple years ruined pizza for me. Pizza around Chicago is just insanely good...the Lou especially.

Thanks for the thread...great inspiration to bring out the stone.

My kid and I flew out to Chicago a few weeks back for the Springsteen concert. We had a pie at Lou Malnati's, amazing.

Besides, according to the recipe above with 2 lbs. of flour divided into an 8 slice pizza, there would be 90 grams

I am to keep carbs below 130 grams a day.

Homemade pizza is great. I cheat a bit and buy whole wheat dough from my grocery store as well as sauce. Still get to fuss with rolling it out though. One of the few foods I have found as a vegetarian that really hits the spot.

I have Lou Malnati's shipped periodically, a big treat for the family and friends.

Also, I have used corn meal in my pizza crust, it is how they do the Chicago deep dish crust.

How did you make Johnnies? I love the combo and cannot get good Italian sausage here, I have to have my kids bring some from Scala's when they come. Doesn't last long.

Pizza making is a great family activity. When time is sparse we use the Thompsons english muffins for dough and make mini pizzas. Yours look amazing, enjoy!

I found the recipe at Italian beef.com. I made my own giardinera also. When my laptop gets charged I'll pm you the link. It was quite easy and much cheaper.

For a flavorful veggie topping try carmelizing onions and peppers (really thick cuts) in olive oil, butter, and garlic before putting on the pizza.
