Vaguely remember something Jim - but no specifics.

Let me add to your title - ''home/business'' in case it helps catch the eye more.

    Home Attempt

I was out of town on business and tried to call my home phone to talk with the wife. She told me the house phone had been out for a couple of days. Upon my return I found that the entire phone box outside had been opened and the insides ripped to pieces. It had apparently happened my first night out of town. Luckily my son, 23 yrs old, was home and on the computer around 12:30am when it happened. He heard a noise and the computer went down. He went down to investigate but saw nothing. I guess he scared then off.

When I discovered what had happened, I called the phone company and the police. The phone guy got there first and said this was a clear attempt to circumvent any security system. While the cop told me we mustr have just made someone made at us. Go figure.

Anyway we have since beefed up security around the house.

He's lucky to be alive. About ten years ago, my daughter's best friend was sleeping in the wee hours of the morning when she heard a commotion next door. The neighbor was having his Mercedes AMG boosted for the fifth time . The guy was tired of the visits and went "out to investigate" and the BG's capped him. He managed to crawl to a spot beneath the girl's window. She listened to him die there.

I admire your son's pluck, but unless he is armed and very tactically proficient/experienced....it's better to get mom and fort up in the bedroom and call the PD. Keep the shottie handy. Maybe let the dogs out if they're big enough? I wouldn't let my Newfies out...but they're water rescue pups so they're not into guarding. But if we had rotties or something...sure. A very good idea is a security light aimed to shine right on the box and set the sensors to chest high so that local critters won't set it off by accident. Maybe wire it to a camera? You can get those (saw one today at SAM'S club) for about $150...cable and all.

    Are you talking about this?

The USCCA office building was burglarized on Saturday night.

Well, not the office but others in the same building.

Can you send him the link I posted in #1 of this thread? He was asking for ideas to prevent it. The link goes to a company that specializes in armoring....everything from vehicles to guard huts to.....you name it.
