It’s like shooting a cork from a fistful of barbed wire
the trigger pull is like dragging a 75-pound rake across gravel.
And many other lovely, quotable items in:

Shoot a box of ammo, and your hand looks as though it’s been put through a meat grinder.
I have an Interarms PPK and while it does bite it is not nearly that bad although it did come with a box of band-aids and coupons for more. And contrary to the article it is quite accurate.

The author obviously didn't know Fleming's background. I believe he knew a thing or two about firearms. And as for obsolete? Maybe. That's why his bosses were always after him to replace the PPK, but the Bond charactor preferred it.

But it is the Washington Post, so the rest of the world must be wrong.

I have two that I bought while I was stationed in Germany. I also agree that they are accurate and the felt recoil was not that bad. I would have used it for my CCW except I wanted a bigger caliber. It is still a good handgun in my opinion...

Silly article. I don't quite understand how it can be obsolete, has there been some major advancement in firearms technology I missed?

I can't believe the author said Ian Flemming knew nothing about guns. He was not ignorant when it came to firearms. I've never fired a PPK but I've always been a fan of their look...stainless PPKs are beautiful guns.

Didn't Han state that the Lightsaber was obsolete?

Just saying. By the way Fleming was OSS.

Fleming was actually with the British Naval Intelligence during Second World War,and was involved in the planning and oversight of two commando units, 30 Assault Unit and T-Force

Cool article. Pretty much hit the nail on the head. Those guns are dead sexy, but arent good for much else IMO.

I wish the Sig 232 had the cool history that the PPK has. And I wish it were a 9. I would buy the heck out of it
