I am pleased that a "Hunting" magazine is writing about concealed carry and self defense.

Well everyone knows 1911s are good combat weapons but not good SD weapons.

Seems to be a decent primer for a novice. Like the part where he recommended renting a gun & trying it out before buying.

Eh, kinda naive and dated, but good to see in a trad outdoorsy mag - seems an indication CC is making it more mainstream.
Dated? They mention the latest handguns, XD-S for example.

It's funny how they mention revolvers as good choices, but show semi's in the pictures.
