But in the years to come, the "uninked" will be highly valued in society as being the rare minority who didn't follow the herd.
There will always be people that chose to get tattooed and those that choose not too. And there will be people who dislike tattoos and view their owners as "thugs, cons, etc"

I personally do not feel that tattoos are a sign of the lower class and that society views those without them as being somehow better. I like tattoos I have them (granted they can be covered in a t shirt) and I work with many people that have them.

As a surgeon I don't consider myself lower class and I would like to think that people who know me consider me smart. I highly doubt my patients would think less of me for my tattoos.

Anyway, that's my rant for the day. To the OP your idea sounds nice. If you like it go for it and post a few pics when it's done.

Tattoos are merely a personal decision and shouldn't mean any more or less than they were meant to. I love mine and don't expect anyone else to, nor do I expect to be judged by them. If you judge me by my tattoos and avoid me because of them you have simply done me a favor and saved me the time of deciding to have any sort of meaningful and intelligent conversation with you, so thanks!

I like your idea, post some pics if you go ahead with it!

If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

A cool tattoo for sure, but I believe that it is a mistake to let too much be known about any person. Besides, you will change with age and regret any permanent symbol on you.

If I were to get a tattoo, I might get something like that (directed to the OP). I personally don't like tattoos because they are like permanent bumper stickers, and I don't have bumper stickers on my car for the same reason I don't have tattoos. If others want them, then that's their choice which they will have to live with. Doesn't mean you're a bad person for having one, though.

I like the concept of the greek writting. It is one of those things where if you are in the know, then you know and approve. If they don't know, they can ask what it means, or what it is for, and you can choose wether or not to tell based on context. But then the AR would not fit into the same category. My style would be to stick with the understated yet bold and committed statement. If you are more of a "wear your personality on your sleve" type, the silouette would add a nice touch.

I do waver at times between concealing my opinions and being the grey man, and proclaiming my beliefs and stances. You can go from grey man to bright light by actions and words, but a gun on your forearm kind of screams to those who would be afraid of inanimate objects.

Okay I cleaned up and deleted several posts in this thread and I'm not even sure I got them all.

If you like or don't like tattoos fine, I don't really care but do not attack each other for have differing opinions about tattoos or the thread will be closed.

I did not PM everyone whose post I either edited or deleted, there were frankly to many. If you came across as to combative then I sent you a PM warning you.

    Let's keep it friendly.

Back on topic, I have a hankering to get da Vinci's "The Last Supper" tattooed on my forehead

WOW Skate. Not really my kind of art, but fantastic work. If you don't mind me asking, how old are those pieces? The color is awesome!

Thanks. The right arm is a little over a year, and I'm still working on the Koi. The last session was about 3 months ago, getting some water added to finish it. I'll get it done next month, my wife just finised up a phoenix half sleeve. Now it's my turn, gotta get ready for the water park next summer!!

As an active duty Marine, I have 13 tattoos and a full sleeve... I've been judged and stereotyped but in the end who I am is all that people end up seeing... be yourself and do what makes you happy, as long as you don't endanger anyone or negatively impact the world... Isn't that what makes America so great?
