    Wanna get the "juices flowing?"

Hey, it's Saturday.. Time to chill... Or not.

Here's a little Op Ed that should keep the blood boiling through the weekend...

Warning: Not a single curse word is in the article... Well, except for the words "common sense" which the author has managed to turn into the most vile words in the lexicon. (except for the ones you will first mutter, and later scream... As you read this "learned professor's" drivel)

Caution: It is written by a Brit, Canadian, Aussie... Or far worse, someone who pretends to be in order to appear more intellectual.

Caveat: It appears to originate in California. You KNOW what that means!

    You have been WARNED!

    It could be worse.

    My, my, my.

That author totally ignores the sort of life people led prior to the invention of the revolver, and the sort of life people lead in areas where ownership of firearms is prohibited to certain classes of people.

That the author ignores Heller and McDonald.

Author needs to look into doing a bit of research before writing such nonsense, getting a copy of More Guns Less Crime is in order.

To put it in perspective, the number of deaths due to mass murders by firearm pales in comparison to deaths from automobile accidents, tobacco, and cancer. Mass murderers are not something I'm really concerned with.

The United States doesn't have a firearms problem, we have a culture problem. Too many fatherless kids who care nothing about education and would rather live the thug life. That culture is responsible for the majority of murders with firearms. But of course the talking heads aren't going to call it like it is and will instead talk about the NRA and our love of guns being to blame.

I've heard all of his information before, in fact, he probably plagerized most of it.

If he feels so strongly about 12,000 deaths by firearms, heaven knows what he must feel about 35,000 deaths by automobile, 98,000 deaths by "medical misadventure", or 1.2 million abortions annually in the US.

Funny, you never have to wonder what is said and/or meant by a cab driver, a barber or a blacksmith, but as soon as a pseud-intellectual starts-up, the subject becomes...pretzel logic. It makes me wonder who's actually showing the most actual intellect!

Wow, there's a lot of assumption, certainty and words masquerading as "fact" in that rag.

Yeah. As if the "conflict and division" is the weaponry.

On the street and in the real world, the practical definition of "conflict" is a bit different. Fine. Well, when the conflict ceases (that is, when robbers and murderers cease plying their murderous pursuits), then it might make sense to discuss who no longer needs what. In the meantime, the need for effective ability to resist violent attack is clear.

That selective quote right there disqualifies the guy from any serious intellectual consideration from me. As a resident of the UK, he seems sadly ignorant of Winston Churchill's 1941 speech at Harrow School, or the reasons behind it: "Never, never, never, never -- in nothing, great or small, large or petty -- never give in, except to convictions of honor and good sense."

On top of that, he apparently is not a fan of free speech, or at least free speech that gets extremist Muslims PO'd.
