Never was a big fan of Twitter.

Did not want to consider myself a Twit and get a Twitter account.

I signed up for Twitter a while back. But I couldn't figure out how to use it, or really what it was for in the first place.

Funny, I feel the same way. What is this for? Unless you are a narcissist and feel the need to tell everyone everything you are doing... in 20 words or less. Same with Facebook for me. I have an account, but I never post anything on facebook... and honestly I can't remember when the last time I looked on it.

No twitter, no facebook, no texts. If my family and friends can't at least speak to me over the phone, I got nothing to say to them. There's just something so "In The Year 2525" to this social medium.

Don't use Twitter. We use FB a lot. It is a good way to send a quick update to a lot of folks without an email. It is just an extension of technology. For thank you cards and invitations we still do it the old fashioned was with regular mail.
...no texts. If my family and friends can't at least speak to me over the phone, I got nothing to say to them.
To that I say this: sometimes it is easier to text than to make a phone call or leave a voice message. If I asked my wife to pick up xyz at the store and I forgot to say we needed milk it is easier to text than to call. Ecspecially if someone is at work (she is a nurse). So IMO texting is good. Now, texting back and forth for an hour is plain stupid.

If I could do FB all over again,...I wouldn't. I have over 1K pictures on there now, and I don't have the time or energy (or storage space!) to save them all and deactivate my FB now. Besides, it does allow me to keep up with friends in different time zones without worrying about waking them up, or vice versa.

I have a twitter account, basically never use it. Not really sure why I signed up for it in the first place. I've used it to "tweet" to the chicago campaign about getting guns off the street though. I don't really care for twitters layout.

I think Justin Bieber uses it.
