That would depend on the type of laser sight,as to left right or low.

I can appreciate your elimination of all the detailed baggage associated with this shot. A very good scenario that makes a very good point.

This is a trick question! The correct answer is not listed. As we all know, the best, and most obvious, shot to take would be to shoot him in the leg. That's the best way to stop the threat without unduly endangering him. Anything else would just be excessive and unnecessary!

With your perfect conditions POA for me would #2 which would possibly be to high.

Yes, and the barometer is high, it is hot and very humid, wind is from the east at 16 gusting to 20.

But, you're over-complicating it... The shot will hit where the laser is pointing.

Sheesh! It don't get any easier!
    Rats!
    It could be worse!
    I suppose

A man fires a rifle for many years, and he goes to war. And afterward he turns the rifle in at the armory, and he believes he's finished with the rifle. But no matter what else he might do with his hands - love a woman, build a house, change his son's diaper - his hands remember the rifle.

I would have to say right thru the front teeth. Less bone, still going to sever the MO and get a bonus spinal severance.

    A. Pretty sure #1 is the answer you're looking for, for the perfect light-switch effect.
    B. Also pretty sure #2 and #3 would be stoppers, or at least smart a whole lot.
    C. I'm betting that if I'm on my game, #2 or #3 would also be a more likely hit because that's where I'm going to be looking (eyes).
    D. What's up with Mook wearing mascara?

Given a straight, level, anterior to posterior trajectory, a through and through shot will penetrate as follows:

#1 hindbrain, distal pons and proximal medulla.
#2 pituitary, midbrain/thalamus and cerebellar stems.
#3 lower medial temporal lobe and possibly inferior third ventricle.

Sorry, I couldn't resist. It was like seeing your favorite category on "Jeopardy".

    Gesundheit, Doc!

All I know about the medulla oblongata is that it makes alligators ornery:

    OK Doc
Tell us more from a ballistic standpoint which round would be the most likely to inflict the damage you described.
Personally I use a expanding 124 gn 9mm in my edc at 995 fps. Home is 45 colt 230 12bnh cast at 770 fps.
