    Head shot.. almost live

Okay here's the setup (and you can't change it!):

    1. Your eyeballs are 6 feet 5 inches from the tip of Mook's nose.
    2. You and Mook are exactly the same size. Your weapon's sights are at eye level (sights are not in the picture, yet)...
    3. It's a handgun (caliber yet undetermined)...
    4. Hardball ammo (FMJ)
    5. The laser sight is activated and you can see the three targets it would paint on Mook's face
    6. ONLY ONE SHOT

(Click on the picture for full size)
    10-11-00.jpg

    You have a choice...
    Target 1, 2, or 3
    as numbered here:

    10-11-00-001.jpg

Which target, if you hit it accurately, will hit the medulla oblongata? Giving that shot the only chance to stop any autonomous nerve reaction which might cause Mook to kill whatever his gun is aimed at?

Keep in mind.. in this very first scenario at least... there is no bone fragmentation. So, the bullet goes thru and thru in whatever size (caliber) it is to begin with...

Sometime next week, I will have the animation, showing all three bullet paths in at least one caliber from this set up with no changes... and I'll post it here.

    Good luck!

Just so you know... I believe any of the shots would be deadly... pretty much instantly... but things are changing in the world of medicine, and many brain injuries that were UN-survivable just a few years ago, are not so now... providing the medical care is good, and timely...

So any of these shots are kill shots... but only one has a chance of "shutting off the switch." And I personally wouldn't take any of them if Mook's gun was pointed (with his finger starting to squeeze the trigger) at someone I cared about (or for that matter, any innocent)...

I'd say #1 is the main breaker switch. Although in real life, I'd shoot more than once.

I like the teardrop tat - nice touch.

NOPE, irrelevant... Both of your heads are at the same level... there is no upward or downward angle to the barrel of the gun... and frankly, now that I think of it, the gun is not sighted from one of your eyes or the other... it's as though you were using both eyes to "sight"...IOW this is a totally straight shot... From between your eyes to wherever on Mook's face.

In the next series, I'll correct that for "right eye" targeting.

Well, I believe #1 is most likely to hit the MO straight through, but the chances of actually hitting it are still slim. Deflection from bones and such would throw it off.

No deflection in this scenario... nor fragmentation which might make any of the shots somewhat successful. Just clarifying what I thought I made clear... but didn't
