I don't quote wikipedia often, but this time, it nails it.
"The concept of character can imply a variety of attributes including the existence or lack of virtues such as integrity, courage, fortitude, honesty, and loyalty, or of good behaviors or habits."
This kid demonstrates fine, fine character.

Some people (kids too) get it, more and more don't. That's an example that would make any parent proud.

Were snowballing in the wrong direction, I hate to think what it will be like in 10 years.

Respect taught early, then applied correctly and backed by his own strength of character.

Bravo Zulu to this young man and those who influenced his choices. Also to those cops who saw this young man's salute (in uniform) and made sure to recognize and celebrate righteous behavior as an example of whats good and right with some of our young folks!

I saw this a few days ago and it is just a strong now as it was then. This young man (he has earned the title in my opinion) may be a Scout today but in a few years he may be an Explorer (Law Enforcement Explorer). Maybe a few years after that he will be a proud member of the Virginia State Police. He certainly sets a good example for all. I have the utmost respect for our Virginia State Troopers. Dedicated professionals doing their best to make Virginia safer for all who are here.
