Wings Over Houston Airshow (pic heavy)
Here's a selection of the best of almost 3000 pictures I took yesterday at the Wings Over Houston Airshow. All where taken with a Nikon D3100 with a 51-200 Nikon Telephoto. The only thing done to the images is cropping. FYI the Zero in the fourth picture is not a "movie" Zero...It is an actual Zero from world war 2...very rare.

There were several white movie zeros but the one olive green one was the real one... It's owned and kept at Ellington field.

Some great pics there, love to see the old war birds still flying. The Phantom really brings memories; still have the scars from the many Phantom bites when I was still in aircraft maintenance.

I started out with the "C' shread out, but never worked them. Went straight to C-5's and the "E" shread, straight out of tech school. The Phantom was a work horse. She'd do anything ask of her.

WHAT! No B-52?
I'm glad there are some people with enough money to keep those WWII aircraft in flying condition. Nothing like the sound of a radial engine roaring by.

I was there Sunday. Good show but last years was better. I really missed the Heavy Metal (now) Black Diamond Jet Team. They are sensational. Blue Angels were great!

I was in Deer Park for my daughters tennis tournament. The planes kept buzzing the tennis courts at low level. I guess we were in the flight path for something. Every time a plane flew over, the entire group of high school kids stopped playing to watch the planes go by. Needless to say it was pretty cool and it took forever to finish the tennis matches.

Thanks for sharing...
I'm about to go get my private pilot license "current" (it's been >10 years). I need some instruction, and my BFR, and I gotta get my physical. As soon as I heal up from this rotator cuff surgery...
I do so look forward to flying again...
