Thank God It's Over!! Like you I am going back into the woods. Now all I have to do is not be so lazy and shoot one of the many I have seen. We have till the end of December so not in that much of a rush. Usually harvest around 4 or 5.

    Ba dum bum! Nice one.

As far as the hunting goes...Well, it went poorly. I didn't see a single deer. : ( It's the lock down phase of the rut.

I quit hunting long ago, but a little time in a tree stand sounds wonderful right now. If course if I was there I'd just sit there fuming like I have every place else today.

I'm with you! I'll be heading out to the deer lease tomorrow. After the tragic events of last night, I have an uncontrollable urge to kill something.

Tree stands are ruining this country.

I'm with you on that. Broke out the AR this afternoon, myself. Should be going hunting again tomorrow. Hopefully I can at least bag a nice doe.

Sounds good. I have a few days next week where I might be able to get away, just might join you. Never tried a bow, guess there is a first time for everything.

Been trying since OCT 1 to bag a deer with my bow. Saw a few but the rut doesn't seem to be very active yet. And of course work keeps getting in the way. Good luck to all.

The seeking phase of the rut has come and gone here. It happened during the full week of rain we had leading up to and from Sandy. My deer woods are in the lock down phase.

Well, for me I'm heading out for an over night back packing trip, just need to get away for a couple of days. I believe God is in control but he allows men to choose and we did last night; God have mercy on us and off to the woods! I hammock camp and it's a glorious relaxing and comfortable weight to enjoy the woods! If you get a chance, stop over at Hammock forums and you'll see what I mean.

Confirmed that my .270 was still on yesterday. New lock on going up on Saturday. Plan on being in the stand bright and early on opening day and filling the freezer. If it's brown, it's down.
