    Brutus came last night....

Started snowing about 4:00pm last night, and by 4:30 it was already accumulating. Looks to have dropped about a foot in most places here last night. I dug out around the house and driveway, but haven't ventured out to the roads yet. I snapped a couple quick pics with my phone before I started the dig-out this morning.

This will be the first snowfall since I bought that Ranger, so I'll be headed out here in a bit to play in the snow.

Thanks for the early warning. Colorado is due for much of the same---just a matter of time.

HA! That is HORRIBLE! I don't know how you can stand that weather.

I love the snow, but hate the temperatures. I can deal with it until it gets below zero. At that point I just lock myself in the house and fire up the wood stove.

We got down to 57 last night and it was horrible. Fortunately today it will be 77 and sunny so I guess we'll survive.

Highs in the mid 50's -60's untill Tues. here:

Then the bottom falls out again to a high of 38.

Raking leaves in shorts in November is a good thing. Shoveling snow, not so much.

Pretty nice here in North Carolina....kind of too warm for proper opening day of deer season. A solid frost this morning turned to 60's. Well I ain't complaining. Montana is some hard country. Stay warm.

Whew! Looking at that makes me glad I didn't get the job in Hamilton a few months ago. Right now I am stuck in Maine for the next 11 days then on to Chattanooga! Trying to get out of here before getting snowed in.

Quick update: The interstate sucks. I now also hate snow plows. lol.

Had a snow plow coming onto the highway in front of me, plenty of room so I just slowed down a bit. Doing maybe 40mph at this point. The snow plow driver decided to come to a dead stop in the right lane, forcing me to go around him. Couldn't really use the brakes because I was on solid ice, so I try to ease around him. I get just past him and my back end kicked out to the left. Since there was a huge drop-off on the right side of the road, I tried to steer it back to the other side of the road. Long story short, I spun completely around and went into the ditch backwards. The good part, my little Ranger is awesome. The snow drift I was in was about 3 inches higher than the bottom of my truck. Dropped it in 4lo and she crawled right out. Nothing damaged. Other than my pride.

Now, I'm a pretty good driver, and I've driven in conditions a lot worse than this. It was a good reminder that even though I've been driving these roads for years, in all kinds of conditions, no one is immune. Everything lined up perfectly to send my happy butt into that ditch.
