Did you notice, you don't have to be a citizen to have the right to keep and bear arms?
I posted this a couple of years ago... but a reminder, with an ever changing user base on DC, is a good thing.

I missed one question... but that was more of a brain fart than anything else...
IMHO, the test does not do a good job of getting at what it *means* to be an American (and this, of course, is NOT universal)... but I would argue that those seeking citizenship know what being American means more than many of those born in this great country.
In a word, it means FREEDOM... It means individual rights to speech, bear arms, religion... and most importantly the right to disagree with each other and with government.
We must not let any of these freedoms be taken from us.

It always amazed me that those trying to obtain citizenship had to know more about this country than the average meathead on the street does.

But I am a history major!
I got 100%. But I went to grade school and high school back in the 50s when "civics" was taught! And besides that, I have a Masters degree with a major in Political Science, so I better be able to pass the test! Not to sound like an elitist or anything, or start a "political" argument, but I do think our citizens should be able to pass a basic test to be able to vote--in ENGLISH!!! It is incredible how ill informed some people are, yet they still are able to help decide the future direction our country will take!!!!

So, if I print out my certificate, can I claim personal inviolability like Jill Kelley? :)

A man fires a rifle for many years, and he goes to war. And afterward he turns the rifle in at the armory, and he believes he's finished with the rifle. But no matter what else he might do with his hands - love a woman, build a house, change his son's diaper - his hands remember the rifle.

That's a study guide, not a test. Apparently you don't read Spanish very well... ;)
