I know that this kid is a savant BUT, look at what his brain is capable of doing and remembering and then try and rationalize how you cannot remember that your firearm has a Thumb Safety.
Stress.Give me a break. Tie that bull up outside.
Get familiar with the 1911 & every time you take it out of the holster and every time you re-holster - you'll know that the Thumb Safety is there...and you'll also remember right where it's located.
It's always Right There where your doggone thumb is. Wow! That is SO easy to forget.
A Colt 1911 is not a fighter jet. It is the simplest and most basic of machines. My toaster is far more complicated.

That is an incredible video! Reading about savants is fascinating; you just have to wonder how do they do that !'m lucky to remember all 10 things on my grocery list if I don't write them down.

I don't understand why "adults" get so excited about a "jeans day" at work?I remember back when I was a 'suit', we'd get all happy about 'casual Friday' when we could wear khaki pants.
Now I wear jeans every day, and I haven't shaved in two weeks. You still need something to look forward to, so I'm thinking about making Friday "carry your 1911 day".
Now that was a good song from a GREAT band.
