I can't remember the last decade where I consumed any of Hostess' products so I suppose I'll manage to survive. Nobody needs a Twinkie, but a lot of people who need jobs don't have them any more. I understand it was a self-inflicted wound -- a nationwide strike did the junkfooders in.

We don't have Drake's in FL so I sometimes buy Ding Dongs, and argue with the kids that I will only call them Ring Dings, no matter who makes them, I believe Drakes is owned by Hostess anyway. Growing up we'd go see my grandparents in VT every year and my grandfather would always have a plate of Ring Dings for us for dessert. Especially when I'm feeling nostalgic, I'll buy a box of Ding Dongs for the kids and I to share while I tell them of my Papa Bud, I've never been able to see one without thinking of him. I see a trip onto town today to grab a box, although I know it will take awhile for them to come off the shelves completely. It's kind of dumb but my computer screen went blurry for a second when I realized they've shut down the bakeries...

With Hostest down we'll now have to buy BimBo Bread products! Their fortified with mind numbing supplements from Mexico! That what they feed Mexiforians aka Kalifornians aka CommieFornians aka Left Coastians, etc. They seem happy with more taxes and a lower standard of living!

I love Twinkies, though I can't stand the same company's Wonder Bread.

Anyway, fear not. They will get made in China, with even more chemicals, and then be
shipped here. They'll be back.

You can bet the "bankrupt" company will sell their patents, trade names, trademarks,
manufacturing technology, and all of their intellectual property. Maybe they will simply close shop
here and move to China. In a few years we'll be eating Twinkies contaminated by G-d knows what--
same as with Chinese made dog treats.

Can you imagine the size of the Twinkie market over there?

Unions have to understand that sometimes "NO" means "NO". It's about time. The days are long gone when Unions actually looked out for their workers safety, health and well being.

It's kind of sad to think that there will be no more Twinkies.
