    IDPA or IPSC Competition

Does anyone here shoot either IDPA or IPSC competition? What is the best way to get involved in these activities? I am not an extremely competitive person but it looks like it would be a good way to improve my shooting and tactical skills. does it take a particular caliber or a highly customized gun?

just go to www.idpa.com and fine the nearest clug and email the match director that you want to shoot.
Some clubs want you to take a new shooter briefing others just show up and shoot.

I think you will find most all clubs eal friendly.

Tactitian. I assume you already have a Belt and Holster. As was mentioned above by Mike Benedict, contact either IDPA or IPSC or USPSA and locate a chapter in your close vicinity.

In addition, I would reccomend you go and watch a match or two and see the SOP for how things are done. Although there will no doubt be same fast guys and gals out there, do not get so hung up on speed. One other bit of advice is to get Brian Enos\' book as that dude is flat out ungodly fast. He is THE AUTHORITY on all matter pertaining to IDPA/IPSC/USPSA.

Being you claim Rocky MTn as your home, I am guessing based on that little diddy John Denver sang that you live in Colorado. Hope this info helps.
