Ya' know, Hollywood is never going to portray defenive shooting the way its supposed to be. There's no sexiness to it and they'd rather not cast a positive light on guns in general. So, most will not be defensive in nature. Just appreciate the technique involved.

It's kind of like how some people have a sudden and insatiable desire to talk about vampires after the Twilight series became popular, except zombies are much less gay and more likely to exist one day

A little OT. But, I found this video on how Tom Cruise trained for the role. (Gotta give him props)

Gotta be Indiana Jones when the guy is spinning the sword around.

Extra trivia about that scene. It was written that way in the script at all. It was supposed to be a longer more elaborate fight scene but Harrison Ford was sick the day of filming and didn't feel up to the challenge of a full fight scene. So he suggested that they shoot it the way they did with Indy just pulling his gun and blasting the sword fighter. A much better scene in my opinion.

For realistic Old West shootouts the final gunfight in Open Range is great.

I'll second Tom Cruise in Collateral as well. You can tell how much work he put into his training.

In my opinion this is the greatest fight scene ever filmed

I like the even from Romancing the Stone where the Zolo has Michael Douglas at gunpoint, and Douglas raises his hands and whips out the sawed off.

Any scene from Big Trouble in Little China. My favorite is the Lo Pan vs. Jack Burton knife throw.
