Off Topic - The Bestest Hollywood Self Defense Scene?
Anyone have any suggesstions on good action/drama movies, and specifically ones with the Bestest self defense (in the context of this Forum) scenes?
I'm not interested in movies that just have shoot outs with the endless 'Hollywood Mags'. I'm interested in realistic (for Hollywood anyway) scenes or stories where good tactics and realistic weapons are used.
Links would be appreciated, but the name of the Movie or Series (if TV) is appreciated.
Thanks.

The last scenes of "Reservoir Dogs" and "True Romance" are pretty realistic in terms of how fast and ugly a shootout would be. Not really "self defense" per se...

Oh, and there is some bad language in these. Also some violence.

It's not gun related, but one of the most realistic scenes that comes to mind in regards to the typical length of a fight, is Sean Connery in "Rising Sun" when he takes down the doorman at a party where he'd gone to speak with a Yakuza member. The scene lasts all of about 3 seconds.

Here's the "bestest" defense of others scene... AKA "The Travis Solution" originally posted here byMike 1956, IIRC.

Plus there was a great Mozambique in a Miami Vice episode, "Calderone's Return (Part I)". Unfortunately NBC wants to milk a few more nickels out of the show so it's not on You Tube any more.

I always think of that line any time I start wondering if Keanu Reeves can act.

Great film by the way. Scorsese is the best ever, in my opinion.

I agree. It's one of my favorites.
