I'd think that a decent bicycle and a towable BOB/trailer would make much more sense, for an long-term SHTF scenario. It'll support getting away, traveling a ways, carrying necessities, heading out/back for supplies, can be much more easily hidden when necessary, etc. And it'll allow $700K in funds to go for other preparations that are far more important to me.
Your best weapon is your brain. Don't leave home without it.

Yea, just what I want for the apocalypse. A mobile home. Anyone concerned about surviving with all the amenities of home, instead of just surviving, probably shouldn't be one of the people that survives.
