Oops! - Flying Camera From Animal Rights Group Shot Down at Pigeon Shoot

NBC 10 News - Eastern PA
By David Chang | Monday, Nov 19, 2012 | Updated 4:38 PM EST

........The drone, nicknamed “Angel,” was recording a live pigeon shoot on Sunday around 3 p.m. when investigators say it was suddenly struck by gunfire. (I am not advocating going around and shooting down drones!..............)

........State Police are investigating the incident. SHARK claims this is the fourth time the drone has been shot at while trying to spy on what they claim are inhumane pigeon shoots.

"When they do this, it only makes us more determined," said Hindi. "We are going to see these pigeon shoots stopped."

All I have to say is "pull".

At $4000.00 a drone, I don't think SHARK will be doing too many more pigeon shoot fly-bys.

Nope, drones are considered a pest, and it is a open season, no bag limit.

I don't hunt but I have a serious dislike for those who want to stop it, especially those who think it's "inhumane." I'd use stronger language but I would like to be able to keep posting here.

I don't understand the logic behind a live pigeon shoot. Doesn't really sound like something I would be interested in.

But shooting down the drone is kind of funny.

Well, ya' better be careful of what kind of drone you want to shoot at.......some shoot back.....with Hellfire air to ground. And you don't want to be on the receiving end.

You all do realize that the group will probably be able to collect donation that are an order of magnitude greater than the cost of a drone by using incidents like this don't you?

Generally speaking, yes. I suspect that the drone fliers are going to be hearing from the FAA, as there are very serious issues concerned with drones getting into the path of small aircraft.

That is the goal. I believe that three previous drones were also shot down, so the launchers knew full well what to expect.

Please cite where you need a special permit? It was an RC plane......and yes I know you can do a lot with them. I have a camera and gps on mine.
