Had to share
Just talked with a friend of mine and he told me about a neighbor about 5mi down the road from him that had a break in when he wasn't home. It seems that he had 2 pistols that he wanted out of sight but easy to get too so he bought 2 (two ) of those clocks that you can hid a pistol in, one for the bedroom and one for the family room. Well BGs took TV, radio, DVD player kitchen knives and you guessed it the 2 clocks with the pistols in them. One of the clocks was found about a 2mi away, no pistol no trace of secound but TV and DVD found at a garage sale unknown out come. My friend even though he felt sorry for the guy he had to bite his lip anyway I had to share.

I had thought about that when I saw those clocks... "Ummm, won't a thief likely take the clocks thinking they could get a few bucks for them?"
Iggy's idea of the century, create a big enough fake pile of dog poop you can put in the corner of a room and keep a gun in it.

Ome of my neighbors who was broken into a couple years ago had his freezer cleaned out as well as jewelry and game systems/games. I've always figured the stuff from the freezer was to look for "hidden" items. Some hiding places are too well known anymore...
I used to hide stuff in the bottom of toy boxes when we went out of town. Not guns, but sentimental jewelry. I figured someone wouldn't break their neck going in the kids' rooms much less go through the bucket with trucks and plastic lizards. Now I figure if someone comes in they'll know all the "hiding" spots. Or they'd be safe from a BG who never showed up, in the toy box, but go up in flames if somehow the place caught on fire. Life's a crap shoot, keep your homeowners insurance up to date...

Sadly, it's the truth. Addicts look for quick cash to get high first, food is a close second.

Should have added that is the empty weight, have no idea how much it weights now that it is filled with guns and coins. Expensive hobbies do tend to get pricey.

Valuables? What valuables? I'm the poorest guy on the block, I have no money, guns, food, or anything.
