I am more worried about an inept Congress than I am our current President

That training might come in handy if they're deployed to assist securing an embassy or consulate. What? No one thought of that?

The programs to counter civilian disobedience in the US ramped up starting in 1968 and continue to be updated today. One program was called Cable Splicer, Google "law enforcement cable splicer" the first article is a summary from 1968 until the early 2000's.

Will local law enforcement, federal agencies, National Guard and the active military use deadly force against fellow Americans? Yes. Think back to the Waco Branch Davidians, Ruby Ridge, Kent State just to name a few. I mention these three because it was proven that law enforcement willfully violated the victims civil rights.

First thing that came to my mind.

The Benghazi attack is still consistently on the news and now that the military is taking training measures appropriate to that situation people seem to want to jump to conclusions about it being some Obama-driven domestic civilian suppression conspiracy...

Oh boy! Pass the tin foil quick! I can still see the outside world.

Department of Homeland Security, Patriot Act........... Suspension of habeus corpus. Obama's been set up. It's a Republican plot to blame it on the Democrats.

Who could have predicted that modern Facism would be so simple and so complete?

Back to the OP. I've had the pleasure of being well-acquainted with some serious Israeli combat solders. And I don't want to be between them and ANYBODY! they want to fight. IMHO, if we do get involved, it'll benefit...the other guys. Israelis are NOT to be trifled with.

Modern warfare requires policing occupied ground. Come to think of it all warfare has always required policing occupied ground.

Unpoliced ground always becomes occupied. Just ask the Native Americans.

That armed quadrotor looks a lot like the Hunter-Killers from Terminator.

Good thing Ivan blew it up before it became self-aware.
