The Ads on this sight
I live in a house full of women, and at our kitchen computer, which my daughters and wife use, I see ads for American Girl, Justice, and Talbots on one side of Defensive Carry page and ads for Brigade Gun Leather on the other.
It's an odd juxtaposition, but I must admit it reduces or eliminates ad blindness.
(The ads, of course, are likely selected based in part on surf history).

Yeah, it's called "retargeting." The site you visit drops a cookie on your computer and that cookie tells the ad provider on this site that you visited their site. The ad network then shows ads that are designed to entice you back to shop with them. They can get real specific, even showing you the exact product you looked at while shopping. It's kinda a creepy, but better than seeing ads that are entirely irrelevant.
I believe you can opt out with Google's retargeting ads.

Only ads on mine are in the bar at the top of the page, mostly site sponsors.

If you used Pale Moon, you will never see an ad. Pale Moon is a light version of Mozilla's FireFox browser. I have been using Pale Moon over a year and have never seen an ad. The browser has a couple of add ons that should be installed to stop all ads and improve your browsing speeds dramatically... Adblock Plus will stop all ads...

On top of the ad blocker "no ads" I am also running "do not track+" to keep sleazeballs from tracking my internet activity by reading cookies. If they want to harvest data on me they will have to pay for it.
I don't always have nothing to say, but when I do, I post it on Facebook.
