The free Calibre program for all platforms lets one convert from ePub to any of the Amazon Kindle formats (or any of the formats used by any of the other e-book readers, including Nook, Kobo, Sony, etc.).

Got a kindle because I was running out of book storage space in the house. While it does other things I just use it for reading, and will admit that more than 50% of my reading is still on old fashioned paper. But I think the Kindle is well worth it!

I'm "old fashioned" and prefer paper. Real honest to God BOOKs! No batteries to go dead, etc. However, my daughter had a NOOK and showed me how you could increase the size of the type, and told me you could get books from the library on loan to you NOOK. We are running out of storage space in our house, so I bought one last year. I proceeded to purchase several books for the NOOK. B&N has a lot of the classics on sale for the NOOK at only a couple of dollars or so. I've now got about hundred or more books on my NOOK, with plenty of room for more. I can access the internet and my email from the NOOK if I want. And I can also read the books on my computer if I so choose. Just my .02.
