    Greetings from my soggy hometown

    My town is flooded...

    http://home.hamptonroads.com/stories...=21663&tref=po

...for the second time in 7 years, due to a nor'easter with freak amounts of rainfall. Before that it was in the 1940s. Luckily I am above the flood plain. At least this time the guvt had a plan. Last time was downright ugly (Hurricane Floyd), with complete surprise. Hopefully civil order will remain in effect as it did in 1999, but there is definitely potential for unrest.

Rant on:::The idiots we have in charge here decided to leave the fire & rescue services in the flood zone, but moved the police station and courts up the hill. They raised the town hall above the flood line, so now it is an island. Did I mention idiots?:::Rant off.

Just saw a bit on Weather Channel about the very SE of VA - not pretty.

Some poor folks barely straight and settled again following the 1999 session. Water damage is grim.
