Brilliant. Tax any businesses that make more money than you think is acceptable... sounds like a president I know.
My response to anyone that thinks sports or movie salaries are crazy... get a job where people are willing to spend their hard-earned money to watch YOU do your job.

What president would that be? Because Obama had 4 yrs and he didn't do squat about wealth inequality and he just won a 2nd term and he hasn't helped out yet. I wish he was the socialist liberal some say he is.
I understand that they do play a sport where people want to pay to watch them but I personally think getting paid that much money to play a game is ridiculous. I just saw a documentary on espn a few weeks ago about bankruptcy and pro athletes and roughly 70% of NBA and NFL players go bankrupt within 2 years of retiring. How you can make millions of dollars and not have any money saved??? I get it that people are stupid with money but I'm sorry if I made that much money I would not go broke.

No athlete is worth the money some of these players get. Yes their agents can ask for whatever they want. But then it's up to the owners to say no. If they pay it then the onus is on them to pay it and they just pass their expense onto the poor fans with higher ticket and concession stand prices. When it's all said and done, their teams income books can reflect, whatever their accountants want them to say. Same with the entertainment industry, they fudge royalties up, all the time.
When anyone of us goes on a job interview and they ask: "How much do you want?" You say: "$25m a year." They say: "We will pay you $10m." You say: "NO....$25m!" They say:"Ummm.....well....ok." Then they raise ticket and concession prices to help pay you. But, now the fans can't afford to come to the games as much. So the owners cry in their soup, and want the players to take a pay cut blaming the players for making too much. Well dumbo if you wouldn't have agreed to pay Cindy Babycry that much to play on your Penguins to begin with you wouldn't have locked-out all the rest of the players putz!!
I can't blame the players for asking for the money because they can ask for whatever they want, but, I can blame the owners for agreeing to pay it because it is up to the owners to agree to sign the checks in the first place! Hows it go??? just say no to their high salary request's during the interview!!
As for blowing all their money. You take most of these players who come-up from having nothing to now having it all. They don't know how to handle it so they hire someone who ends up cheating um out of it, or mishandles it as well.
And yes if you had that much money odds are you too would go broke. Just look at all the lotto winners whom hit it big and a few years later they too are back to work again.
And Millard Fillmore had nothing over Pappy No and Lora C. Cord........EH!!
And what was traction is now skid marks... Another 2 weeks of the season cancelled, thru December 30. Next announcement will either be a deal or cancellation of the entire season.
I'm hoping for cancellation at this point.

Almost all of the top line professional sports have fallen off my radar due to the ******* and moaning of players and owners alike. Baseball remains iffy.
