That "downed" tree version is pretty cool, oakchas. Taking from the pile would definitely have to be done in such a way as to appear like a problem with wood borers, or too many chainsaws, or whatever. Very cool.
In such 500-cord examples, though, I can imagine the word going out amongst the spider population, particularly black widows and the like: "Hey, Bob's got his half-acre pile up again! Time to get spinning, dog! C'mon!" :tongue:
There's a difference in busy & productive. Cutting wood with which to to heat & cook is productive, stacking it into oversized works of decorative art, that's just...busy.:wink:
Nice, but here in California that might get you a citation from the Richardheads at CalFire. I live in a heavy pine forest and firewood drying too close to the house is not smart.
