    My best picture so far!

I was taking a break from watching the news this morning at work, so I went outside to stretch my legs. I found this bird sitting on top of a nearby fence pole and decided to snap a picture before it flew away. I am by no means a photographer, but I think it was a great shot and wanted to share it!

Very nice. Great sky color against the silhouette.

You don't want the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that wall, you need me on that wall.

Sorry. Had to quote Col. Jessep there with that pic.

    Nice pic.

Very nice pic. Not to hijack or steal your thunder, because your pic is better than mine with the silhoutte, but I caught this guy in my front yard 3 days ago and he looks like a relative of the one you caught on film. ;-) ... DPP_2589.JPG

Great looking picture and bird! I might have to invest in a decent camera. The one on my phone is not the best.

I work at an airport and luckily I got this picture when I did because not to long after I took this picture county workers drove by with their pyrotechnic pistols to scare away all the birds.

The bird in silhoutte like that with the barbed wire, etc really makes for a great, artistic looking pic. Nicely done. Mine is a picture of a bird. LOL

    A bird with:

Barbed wire and a control tower or nature.

I'll take a bird with nature!

That's a great picture! The background is perfect for a predator bird. It looks like a Falcon but I can't tell for sure.

Good observation. I think you are right. Falcons have a sleek look to them and not as much of a hooked beak.

The top one has the silhouette of a Cooper's Hawk or a Northern Harrier, the second is certainly a Red Shouldered hawk. Nice photos.

Here is my local Red Shoulder sitting outside my kitchen window:
