I thought it might be interesting to record our collective predictions for the New Year. Since I get to go first I’ll take first swipe at the low hanging fruit.

I predict that a massive rally in Washington D.C. will do absolutely nothing to stop the new Congress from passing a new assault weapons ban similar to the one that lapsed.

Obviously I don't have a crystal ball. Next.

Taxes will go up, my bank account will get smaller, my truck will get more miles on it, prices of ammo and guns will come down but not at previous levels. Gas prices will continue to fluctuate with upward trend in prices.

My computer will probably die, and my dogs will still love me, regardless of what neighbors think. The kid next door will still be annoying, and Sixto will still be worshiped as a god on this forum.

GB will win the Super Bowl (boo). Republicans cave and some form of AWB passes (but not Feinstein's Nazi plan). Jay Cutler is NFL MVP of 2013 :)

People underestimate the resolve of the left and the overestimate the resolve of the right when it comes to the 2A. They are also complacent with the current state of the law, and are therefore not vigilant. You can see as much in their response to LaPiere's speech in the aftermath of Sandy Hook. "Too harsh, not eloquent,..."

Obama will vilify republicans and Biden will provide the hyperbole.

Some weak republicans in the house will cave.

These same people will be dismayed when restrictive gun control measures are signed into law - measures that will make the previous AWB look like the glory days of 2A.

There will be a confiscatory tax on certain grandfathered weapons.

These same complacent people will then scream that the right "did not do enough" to protect our rights.

Sorry to be so grim, but that's what I predict.

But I have to admit, I Was one who did not care for WLP's speech.

I did write to POTUS and my congress critters.

I did write a letter to the editor.

I am spreading the word.

I am trying to do all I can.

I really think our side needs more air time, more column inches, more sound bites, to win a few straggling hearts and minds.

We're gonna lose something, I'm afraid, I just don't know how extensive.

Negative Predictions:

1. Zimmerman will be innocent. People will be upset.

2. Taxes will go up.

3. $400/1k for cheap 5.56 when in stock levels return in August. You'll won't be buying it online however.

4. Non-railed pistols and 10 round mags for service pistols will become hard to find because everybody will be switching to them.

5. Thanks to new EPA regulations your electric bill will be up 15-20% by this time next year.

6. .22 Conversion kits will be hard to find.

7. We will have troops on the ground in Syria.

8. Gas will be 4.20 a gallon on the low end of the scale.

9. Congress will begin to consider raiding retirement accounts.

10. Everybody will be working two 28 hour a week jobs.
