Soldiers turned away at Ryan's

I am ashamed that this happened in our city. They will no longer have my business and as a business owner, i will spread the word to my clients and find other restaurants to accommodate my business luncheon needs.

On eve of deployment, National Guard turned away at Ryan's

Apparently Ryan's has a contract with the military where soldiers don't pay at the time of the meal. Ryan's files a reimbursement form with the military and the military sends them a check. Seems that isnt good enough for Ryan's. Our military goes through enough. This is something they shouldn't have to go through.

I am curious to when they changed their policy. If it was announced well in advanced then I don't see the problem. If it was a knee jerk change of policy at the time the soldiers showed up then that is different.

from what i understand they havent changed the policy. the manager at the restaurant didn't want to deal with having to wait for the military to pay so he just turned them away.

He says in the past, this method was accepted but that currently the policy in place requires a valid credit card at the time of purchase.

Well strike Ryan's from the acceptable list of restaurants. Mrs Pockets said it's a shame the only Ryan's near us went under last year.

Something does not sound right about this. "Over 100 officers"....You would think that if over 100 soldiers were showing up for lunch that this would be coordinated. So they just showed up? I don;t get it. They had a "purchase order"? How could they have a PO without Ryan's agreeing to it? Bad reporting.......

found some more info. they scheduled everything with Ryan's and got it set up then when they showed up, they were informed the policies had been changed and they would have to pay with credit card.

I don't eat at any buffet restaurants for that very reason. I serviced refrigeration at a lot of restaurants and I also found the food handling was not good.
