Fat guy + McDonalds - 100 pounds = Ironman Triathlete. See my documentary! (6min)

I was fortunate enough to be the subject of a short, inspirational documentary! Thanks so much to Mike Wilkinson at Ann Arbor Video Production - WilkinsonVisual Demo Reel for finding my story interesting enough, and putting in a lot of hard work watching me play! I hope that someone else finds a new life without self-imposed limits too.

I'd like to take a moment to thank our own TN_Mike for some inspiration and motivation when I needed it. I'll never forget that...thank you, Mike. Hope life is treating you well.

Neat story, and I can't believe that McD's helped

Very cool, thanks for taking us on your journey. Congrats on sticking with it, your accomplishments, and the Ironman. I like that you included your fall - shows how much trust you have in your partner that you didn't freak at all like I'm pretty sure I did the time I fell in training ; hey it was the first time I had ever climbed.

Fantastic video! Congratulations on your weight loss, that's such an accomplishment! You really are an inspiration for others to get up and get going NOW.

I really enjoyed seeing you rock climbing at New River Gorge. Beautiful place.

I bet McDonald's Corp would love to see this too!

    Great Video. Ditto JeanLouise.

And...one additional valuable lesson. Always buy good quality carabiners.

McDonalds may have found their Jared. Only instead of being someone I'm pretty untrusting of it is someone that is in to climbing, triathlons, and guns. That's an ad campaign even I could win with.

Congrats on the journey. I'd love to see a long version of this, or even just a thread here, that details the journey. I'm in the middle of a journey back from injury myself. I live about an hour from a great climbing location and it is my goal to be climbing some of the good stuff by August.

    Thanks, Guys!
Doodle - Best of luck, man! You are capable of things you've never imagined if you decide you want them.

E4 - If it helps my trustworthiness, I've dabble in Jiu Jitsu and am currently sniffing out a crossfit gym that has BJJ classes too. More of the story on my blog - I mention my coming back from injury too. In KY, you must live down by the Red River Gorge - I'll be down there a number of times this summer for sure. Perhaps we can meet at the crag one weekend.

Oh yes, I travel with only highest quality carabiners and belay babes.
