She ended it the same way they(all anti-gun fools) all do, and just the way I envisioned.
They do not have reason, forethought and the ability to see things from a logical standpoint.
They have the "for the children/sake of humanity' delusional thought process, that has taken over the world; its called socialism.

"Outside of the killings, Washington has one of the lowest crime rates in the country,"
--Mayor Marion Barry, Washington , DC .
So very typical of the "Liberal Arts". The only thing I missed was the the fingers in the ears saying "I can't hear you, I can't hear you".
I have come to the conclusion that the anti-gun left's position is not that they choose to blindly believe that an inanimate object, made from pieces of metal, plastic and/or wood can cause problems. It is their arrogance that does not allow proper thought process in this area. Many times I have heard extreme liberals say "Everybody is good, it is only their circumstances that made them do bad things". This thought process correlates into the argument of "people can't be blamed for their choices, its the guns that made the decision for them". This inability to recognize that people can not discern right from wrong leads to the belief that people are only slaves to the circumstances. Since many on the left believe that it is only the circumstances that dictate the decisions we make, they then believe that freedom of choice does not exist.
I know a lot of jumps in that argument, and I tried to place the arguments into short sentences as to not overwhelm those that choose not to make think for themselves.
"Gun Free Zones" is where only criminals carry guns.
This teacher finds multi-paragraphed responses hard to read, and this is an English teacher who undoubtedly had to read hundreds of students' reports that were paragraphs upon paragraphs long, and probably also required bibliographies to list sources?
Not only was there an elephant in the room, it stampeded her and slammed her into a tree. She still seems to expect a teacher/student relationship where she teaches and you learn. It's hard for her to have a role reversal. She's simply not interested in learning real facts.
Bad teacher. No apple!

English teacher, eh?
Sounds more like some self righteous Left wing nut who got owned at her game and just couldn't take it. So the accusation of the reply being "snarky" came about.
I think she got crushed. She wanted no opposing opinion to her opinion, only fluffy agreements. Did good in my book, some goofy know-it-all gets sqashed in a public forum. Classic.

I suggest that since she started calling names "snarky" you respond with something about her being a female canine.
"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched c-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain."

I tried to read your response - but since it was more than 1 paragraph and didn't agree with my close minded views 100%, it was hard to do. Stop being so SNARKY!
I snark a teacher at least twice a day...in fact, I just snarked one a couple of minutes ago.

I loved how the "teacher" made a point of saying how much she respected and understood the OPs point of view while stating in not so many words that she is ignoring every word. I love the part about our friendship is at an impasse. Classic BS.
Not all my friends share the same social and political background but I don't hesitate to share my world view and they don't hesitate to share theirs. It doesn't put our friendship at an impasse but I'm sure we have had multiple instances of each of us muttering IDIOT under our breath. But we have also had some instances when faced with logic, and truth that they were in complete agreement with me. At least on paper. The likelihood that they see the light might be slim but at least it's being presented in what I hope is a clear, concise, understandable and indisputable fashion. Some people are just not ready to give up on their preconceived notions and accept the truth. So far I haven't had too much opportunity to agree with them but it could happen.
It's kind of like how some people have a sudden and insatiable desire to talk about vampires after the Twilight series became popular, except zombies are much less gay and more likely to exist one day
The real problem is that most Anti's have made up thier minds already and do not want to hear the facts......They think that they have the "moral high ground" and you will just stop talking and agree.
Sadly I get this same reaction out of both my Mom (retired teacher) and Dad (retired union electrician) anymore.
