    Can I modify my own mags?

    Once Mass passes the 7 round mag bill, all my 10rd mags for my S&W will be illegal. I took one mag apart and found that I could easily modify it to accept only 7 rounds. Do you think this would be acceptable to the powers that be.

    I think you'll have to see how the actual law you'll be subjected to addresses that. Until then, it's all just a guess.

    In the mean time, I suggest this:

    If they adopt the same law as New York did, No, you won't be able to modify your previously owned magazines in an attempt to make them compliant. The New York law says magazines which have a block in them to limit capacity, or magazines which can be readily converted to hold more than seven rounds are also illegal.

    So, as TXexpat points out, it really depends on the wording in the law if it is adopted.

    We have room in SC...we actually hand out ammo and guns at the border now if you look cool.
