Re-runs of Adam-12-Interesting to watch the difference
I have been watching re-runs of Adam-12. Very interesting to see how that show is compared to police shows now. Attitudes of officers and civilians, weapons and tactics, at least how they are portrayed in the show. Funny to see them having to ask to use peoples telephones all the time to call something in.

Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”
And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”

Unknown if you saw the Adam 12 stuff when it showed originally. It was truly "riveting" stuff, then. Sort of a "softer" Dragnet.

Thoughts: Justifiable self defense.
Explain: How does
disarming victims
reduce the number of victims?

True enough, but kinda funny that I've been surprised at the similarities to today's shows' topics/issues - just not as glitzy.

It was on Netflix a year or two ago - not sure if it's still up there...

"The only thing black and white about the job is the car."
Love that line.
If you're going to carry one weapon, might as well carry two, because as the saying goes, "Two is one, and one is none."
"Liberals can decline or whine, but I will still carry and conceal mine." - Cold Warrior. Excellent quote good sir!

That was a great show. I'm going to have to look for it on Netflix and watch it again.
Thanks for reminding me!

It is also on ANTV (Antenna TV), along with Dragnet and Alfred Hitchcock. METV (Memorable Entertainment Television) has Wild Wild West and Emergency; and on Saturday shows The Rebel, Lost in Space, Star Trek, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Honey West, and Burke's Law. They have The Saint in the early hours of Monday morning and Combat! and 12 O'Clock High the rest of the week.

Like how I like to watch "Emergency" and see how EMS treatment protocols and equipment have so massively changed over a few decades. Pretty much ALL the drugs used to treat cardiac arrest have gone in and out of favor, no more transmitting ECGS, and we only call the hospital (except on rare occasions) after we have assessed and treated the patient and are on the way to the ED.
Plus you get quality entertainment without all the personal drama and NO SEX in the back of the ambulance or elsewhere.

As a teen driver it was considered proper etiquette when stopped by the police to get out of your car and walk back to meet them half way. It reduced your chances of getting a ticket by showing respect. Wouldn't recommend that in today's world tho. If you remember this your probably pushing 60 pretty hard.
I carry to protect myself and my loved ones from the BG's. Not to solve societies problems. That said: if more carried the deterrent would only have a positive overall effect on those problems.
