lol ben its great stuff as far as fun goes , but ordering it is deffinatly a spendy propisition , at least for me to use as targets lol . i suppose its worth it for the " Cool " factor of the detonation , a safe fairly cheap and legal brush with explosives .

if you have broadband search youtube for it , i belive there are a lot of vids on the tube of tannerite .

Yes you can order it ben , since its not an explosive untill its mixed , and you do that at where eaver your going to shoot it , I really dont recomend your local friendly rifle range , unless of course you clear it with them first LOL

Well since I do not know anyone with land and my closest rifle range is a GOV range, I guess its not in the picture for me. Gee I wish I had some friends with land. This sounds fun.

Haha - even with available land Ben - there can be times that ''someone'' decides to call the cops - same has occurred at this venue when we have had class 3 stuff blasting off

All adds to the day's ''fun quotient''

    Tannerite Formula

The Tannerite Formula is public knowledge as its patented.

    Oxidizer is: 85% Ammonium Nitrate
    15% Ammonium Perchlorate

The fuel is 90% Aluminum Flake Dark 600-mesh
    5% Titanium Sponge 325-mesh
    5% Zirconium Hydride-200 mesh

Follow all local, state and federal laws if you decide to mix up any "high energy materials"

I saw some of this stuff at the last Machine gun shoot. Guy had a video where he hit a 1lb can, a 2lb can and wooha a 5lb can of this stuff. 5lb can was on a huge stump and after the smoke cleared there was no stump.

I have to ask.. can you purchase or mix this stuff legally or do you need a permit?

When I was a kid I would mix potassium chlorate and ***** and blow the hell out of trees and other stuff. Everyone has lost their sense of humor for that kind of stuff now days. I guess stupid kids killing kids will do that.

I will wait for the recipe that is being reviewed.

There is for many a satisfaction in blowing **** up LOL! Even at my advanced age!

AFAIK - there is nothing in the mix that requires any permits etc - nothing is on its own actually singularly hazardous in explosive terms, tho I suspect the fine powders are not too safe if inhaled. It is a true binary as sold.

That said - these days I'll wager trying to purchase NH4NO3 or K(CLO3)2 (may have that one wrong) - would raise flags unless good reason apparent, as the NH4NO3 is of course half of ANFO.

The major cost it seems is with the fine mesh components and probably these would have to be purchased in fairly large qtys to make it worthwhile.
