    Firefox 2

Just letting everyone know that Mozilla Firefox (web browser) has a new upgrade out (version 2). I would normally not bring this up, but it has a new handy feature that I find GREAT. It has a spell checker built into it. It is similar to what you would find Microsoft word. It underlines any misspelled words that you type into the browser (like forum posts) in red to let you know its misspelled. To fix it you just right click on the word and it gives you a bunch of options to fix it, just click on the right spelling and it fixes it for you.

I thought it was a very handy feature for anyone who posts on forums often.

you can get it at www.mozilla.com

I've been using it for a long time and am very happy with it. This is the first I have heard of version 2, but you can bet I'll be trying the upgrade.

I find the spell checker that you download and use in the forum is better than the one in Word. It will show you "I'm" as the first option if you type "im". Word does have it but it is the second option. Some other words it will give you options that are not shown in Word. I'll check the new Firefox, but expect I'll wait on extension updates as well.

I use the free Google Toolbar, I like Google for searching anyway, and it comes with a spellchecker. I don't use it all the time. I am a good speller but a bad typist.

I don't know about Firefox 2, but 1.5 has the Google search function built into the top. I've been using Firefox for a while now and I like it pretty well.

Shows you how much I know about software - I thought this topic would be about a sequel to Clint Eastwood's 1982 film FIREFOX.
It's not about the caliber you carry, it's about how you USE it.

Arrrrgggg!!! FF2 is pure crap. My tool bar is no huge and I'm not able to resize it and I don't have any scroll bars. Have tried re-install and total delete, no luck. Really I think I have a bad extension but there doesn't seem to be any way to get rid of or disable it.

OK, it's fine now. I had the littlefox theme, which somehow slipped by the compatibility filter. Luckily there was an update, once that happened my functionality returned.

I understand that the Nightly tester Tools extension works with 2.0 (which will force old extensions to work with newer versions of FF).

    Haven't tested it yet myself.
