2 more thugs going down
So, it's 0043 in the morning, snowing outside, and when I'm finished I have a 24 mile drive home, and have to be back at 0700 in the morning. I have been at it since 0530 yesterday morning.
But the good news; 2 murder trials are coming to an end tonight. The verdict on the first thug is 35 years flat.
The second thug was found guilty, but we are waiting on the sentencing verdict. He could get 70 years.
I think it's safe to say, I'll never have to deal with these two again during what's left of my career. However, I have tremendous job security.
Folks, the justice system is still working.
When this is over, I might make it home in time to put on a pot of coffee, change clothes, and see the wife for a few minutes. But nights like this make it worthwhile.

Only two? You need to work more hours. One good thing about life sentences, they cut down on repeat offenses.

I hope you've trained up some good under-studies for when you retire.
I owe you a few cold ones someday.

Glockman, one of my favorite judges once sentenced a guy to 6- 75 year sentences consecutively! The BG looks at the bailif and says "I can't do all that!" The judge calls them back into the court and tells the BG "That's OK Just do what you can!" DR

We had a guy in our court Friday that was a confessed gang hit man. He cooperated against the upper members of the gang so the Judge cut him some slack (It's called a 5K1 motion in Federal Court). Anyway, he sentenced him to 444 months. Bye bye. Cya.
