Varmint hunting is a blast!! (and expensive)
I never shot Praire dogs, but I have shot Ground hogs. I used a .22-250, .223, 6.5x55mm Swedish. Its nice to see a "red mist", through your rifle scope. That means ya dont need the spoting scope for a conformation:wink: .
Hope no PETA folks seeing those - they'd be screaming!!
Warning for the squeamish - vid clips are - hmmm - messy !!
PETA? People Eating Tasty Animals?
I understand the reason for shooting Prairie Dogs and Graydiggers, but that really seems like a sensless waste of meat. I say this because growing up in Sisters Oregon my job (age 5-7) was to shoot Graydiggers for the pot and to feed the dogs. I used a 22 to hunt them and wasted very little meat.
Anyone here purchased the video? I have wanted to know how representative the website's clips are compared to the rest of the video.
Wow. pretty graphic exploding praire dogs on that. I didn't realize they blew em up that much.
wow ! great footage !
They will scream even louder when the price of vegitables goes up. From the havoc these subterranean vermint, cause on a farm field/eqipment.Quote:

No matter realy. They will scream regardless:rolleyes:
I use the .17HMR on groundhogs & it is devastating.
A guy I work with likes to hunt prairie dog with his K98.
He hits 'em out to 300 yards with irons.
I figure 8mm Mauser is pretty brutal to the little guys.
