California would have to issue an IOU to the tipsters anyway. They wouldn't have seen the money either way.....

Yeah, it's always the fine print that voids the warranty.

    We all felt like:

a: he would not be taken alive, by his will or theirs
b: he would never make it to court.

No way would any agency be able to pay a million dollar reward. Our country, states, counties and municipalities are broke. The check would bounce all over the place.

It was just an enticement to get people to fess up as to his whereabouts if they actually knew where he was holed up.

This guy was a fatalist, he knew what the consequences would be of doing what he did, submitting his manifesto and going out in that blaze of glory. He probaby felt like a martyr and as he died hoped that someone would elevate him to that status.

Too bad, he's been elevated to a pile of charred human remains and that's about it.

This is the kind of thing that makes me mad. He was captured...dead, just the way he should have been captured. Pay the money!

I hope they did not spend the money yet! The ariticle said 1 mil from private and $100,000 from county. You know they will find a way out of paying.

Before they announced the reward they already had many loopholes that would make sure they would not have to give that money. That's how the system works.

    According to Webster:
    Definition of CAPTURE

1 : an act or instance of capturing: as
a : an act of catching, winning, or gaining control by force, stratagem, or guile
b : a move in a board game (as chess or checkers) that gains an opponent's piece
c : the absorption by an atom, nucleus, or particle of a subatomic particle that often results in subsequent emission of radiation or in fission
    d : the act of recording in a permanent file <data capture>

2: one that has been taken (as a prize ship)

Based on that, he was captured. It has nothing to do with being alive or dead.

Nobody ever gets those rewards. Police were shown at their worst with this event- including Dorner, his antagonists in the LAPD, and the reckless, savage behavior of the police in his pursuit and execution.

Just because he was cooked doesn't mean he wasn't captured.

I remember reading something saying that conviction was part of the process. Wonder if posthumus counts?
