Like any reasonably sane person I have a tendency to name inanimate objects, anthropomorphizing them based on their characteristics. Anti-gunners are especially likely to do this but usually take it a step too far by creating a fantasy where guns have legs and the intentions of mad scientists. I digress. I have dubbed my Ruger LCP the cricket in reference to Agent J's high powered "tiny cricket" in the epic alien movie Men in Black. So my question is, what fun and interesting names have you come up with for your firearms?
Mine all answer to Blackie.
"Pick a ride, any ride, they all go round and round."
'American Express'...never leave home without it.
It is pardonable to be defeated but never surprised.
2 Ruger alaskan .454s
Long winded, I know, but I'll get to the name part............
The first year my wife and I were married, she gave me a Ruger 10/22 for Christmas. After 30 years, suddenly any accuracy was gone an I discovered a very small chip at the muzzle.
After a little time, I decided to start modifying. First came a .920 Green River barrel and a Hogue stock. Then some Volquartzen trigger parts. Also a BSA "Sweet .22" scope and better mounts. Then a bipod. Ended up with a scary accurate rifle, but butt ugly and heavy!
Now I call the rifle "Bub". (Big Ugly B*****d)
Cape Locum Et Fac Vestigium
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”
And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”
My SW 642 goes by Vespasian and my CZ 75D PCR goes by Commodus.
Just kidding. Fred and Ethel, respectively.
I have one I call Glock.
Let your plans be dark and impenetrable as night, and when you move, fall like a thunder bolt...... Sun Tzu.
The supreme art of war is to defeat the enemy without fighting........ Sun Tzu.
As in ...
"Simon says, get on the ground with your hands behind your head"
Wolfgar, Fritz and "Baby."
Hey, you asked.
Name for double barrel shotgun: Bam-Bam
I call my M&P "Smitty" and my LCR "Elsie", only for the fact that when out in public I can discreetly ask my wife if she can see Smitty or Elsie and not alarm anyone.
The closest I've ever came to naming a firearm of mine is-- well, "reliable".
"Rebellion against tyrants is obedience to God." - Benjamin Franklin
"Experience: that most brutal of teachers. But you learn, my God do you learn." - C.S. Lewis
I've never named one of my firearms but since you bring it up...maybe I'll start calling my LCR Dabney Coleman for no particular reason.
I simply refer to my two as...................... " my gun (s) ".............period.
